HUAWEI LEAKING CUSTOMER'S PRIVACY - TRUTH OR FAKE?
Recently on February 14, the U.S. Intelligence agencies like FBI, CIA and NSA and three others have issued firm warning to all American citizens not to buy smartphones and services made by Chinese tech companies Huawei or ZTE.
The companies’ troubles date back to 2012, when a House Intelligence Committee cited both of these as potential security risks over close ties to the Chinese government. Following year, they were both barred from selling product to the U.S. government.
FBI director Chris Wray expressed his concerns on Tuesday, “We’re deeply concerned about the risks of allowing any company that is beholden to foreign governments. It provides the capacity to maliciously modify or steal information." Back in 2012, the Congress released a report saying the two Chinese companies should be viewed "with suspicion."
As a response to this Huawei has claimed the reports baseless and accused the government of “inhibiting its business in the U.S. market” and added “Huawei is trusted by governments and customers in 170 countries worldwide and poses no greater cybersecurity risk than any ICT vendor."
My personal opinion is Huawei is the third largest cellphone selling brand in the world after Apple and Samsung.Huawei's phones even outsell Apple's in places like Central and Eastern Europe. So this could be marketing plan to eradicate Huawei from U.S markets by large companies. And the U.S government itself would undoubtedly support its own companies in this. I can't believe a popular company as it would make such cheap things risking its brand. So, unless proven otherwise with sufficient proofs let us not believe in this news and keep loving and supporting Huawei.
